Ok, I’ve been a follower of G4TV forever — since TechTV and, before that ZDTV. As a professional nerd I spend a lot of time with it playing in the background as I work. And, as a longtime fan, I’ve turned a blind eye when they started playing Fastlane and Star Trek reruns…I pretended not to notice when they cancelled all of the TechTV shows in favor of the Man Show, Cops and Cheaters. Heck, I even put up with countless re-airings of Ninja Warrior, x-Play and Attack of the Show.
But tonight I have reached my limit. You see, tonight G4TV is airing (and multiple times) “Lost In Translation.”
With Bill Murray.
And Scarlett Johansson.
Written and directed by Sofia Coppola.
What the fuck???!?!
Have the powers-that-be at G4TV completely gone insane? Do they have any idea who their target market is? Can someone please explain this particular “genius” bit of programming to me? I’d love to see them bring back some of the decent, nerd-oriented original programming that ZDTV and TechTV were known for.
To the heads of G4TV: If I wanted to watch some crappy-ass chick flick I’d switch over to Lifetime or Oxygen. Do you audience a favor and air something that doesn’t suck-ass.
Sweet leaping Jesus, those people are going to drive me to drink.

Wow. thank goodness for Tivo. I just record one each of their ninja warrior and attack of the show airings. Maybe they count on their viewers to be tech-savvy enough to use machines to filter for them :)
Thanks for the heads up though!
No joke about Tivo. I think G4TV has less than 10 hours of worthwhile content these days…if that. I miss the old days of TechTV when you could tune in at almost any time during the day and find something interesting on…more interesting than a 4 year old episode of Cheaters or Cops 2.0. Terrible stuff.
M
u mean people arent setting up their VHS player on timers, to watch shows when they are gone anymore?
