You didn't think I'd let a Halloween pass without a costume tutorial did you? The husband and I got a little emotional this Halloween...presenting Inside Out's Anger and Joy costume tutorials!
Cosplaying is a favorite hobby of many people. I enjoy making costumes myself very much. Unfortunately, it can get pretty expensive. Fortunately there are ways to save money on cosplay costumes. Here are my recommendations for keeping your wallet as happy as possible!
Come October, Supernatural's gearing up for season 12. While that's still a couple months away, I wanted to put together some Sam & Dean Winchester everyday cosplay outfits. Having been through so much, both these brothers dress for monster/demon butt-kicking situations on the daily. I've put together male and female based outfits for both Sam and Dean. Enjoy!
For one of my first official cosplay costumes, I made an Elspeth, Sun's Champion outfit, complete with light-up Godsend spear prop. For those who don't know, Elspeth is a planeswalker from Magic the Gathering. I actually ended up taking first place in a local con cosplay contest. It was a pretty cool experience. Lots of frustration but very rewarding. I wanted to go back and share how I made her spear, Godsend.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens was released on DVD last week. And in only a couple weeks it'll be time to celebrate 'May the fourth be with you.' To commemorate both occasions I've created an everyday cosplay for Rey. Keep reading to embody the bold & brave demeanor of Rey.

Today I wanted to do a throwback to my childhood and honor the board game Clue. Growing up, it was one of my favorite games to play, and I still enjoy playing it to this day. To have a bit of extra fun with the game, I wanted to re-imagine each character and make an outfit for each of them. Not all of the outfits can be considered "everyday" (since I wanted to cover a range of styles), but they can all definitely be considered fabulous in some way. I even had fun and gender-bent 2 of the traditional characters.
Making cosplay costume materials look like other types of materials can sometimes be difficult. That's not the case when it comes to making EVA foam look like wood. This infographic tutorial will show you just how easy it is to create a wood grain effect on foam that'll both look good & will show up in your cosplay photography.
