*Horkers are sea animals that reside in colder environments. Their diets consist of sea creatures, such as clams. I would consider their closest 'real-life counterpart' to be the walrus. Walrus is not easily acquirable where I live, so I substituted beef stew meat for my horker/walrus.
**I used russet potatoes. If you like sweet potatoes, or are feeling adventurous, try them instead. They make a fun combination with the chosen spices, but they do soften quicker.
1. Chop and dice your ingredients, including meat, carrots, potatoes, garlic, and onion. Add to crock pot.
2. Add your tomatoes and beef broth.
4. Set your crockpot to low for 6 hours. Stir every few hours if home. If the stew isn't thickening to your level of preference after 4 hours, add in some cornstarch.
5. Serve with a hunk of crusty bread to sop up all of the tasty goodness!
*Tip: If this recipe turns out to be too spicy for your preferences post adding of the spices, cool it down by adding 1-2 tablespoons of sugar and lemon juice each.
